Two people were injured Monday afternoon after two cars were sandwiched between a city bus and a school bus on Ottawa’s east side.
It happened around 3:20 p.m. on St. Laurent Blvd. and Shore St. near Belfast Rd.
Ottawa Fire spokesman Marc Messier said luckily, the school bus was empty.
“One car lost control and crashed into the O.C. Transpo bus,” said J.P. Trottier from the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
There were passengers on the city bus but no one was hurt.
The collision also involved two compact cars — one red, one silver.
A woman driving the red car appeared to be OK.
A 63-year-old man driving one car sustained neck injuries but he managed to get out on his own.
An 8-year-old boy had to be extricated from the backseat.
Trottier said he had bumps and bruises and was taken to hospital only as a precaution.
Ottawa Police are investigating and no charges have yet been laid.
