Linger. Loiter. Roam.
Jack Darling Memorial Park was our favourite destination, with dad.
We’d spring into the burgundy Mazda and cruise down Lakeshore, anticipating skipping rocks, along with unmentionable parking lot shenanigans.
Those memories – some 20+ years ago – drew me to the shore of Lake Ontario on a rainy mid-December day; umbrella intentionally left behind.
I wanted to feel those icy drops. Feel why this park leaves me speechless. Feel the chill club my bare hands.
An intimate picnic spot for some, a routine dog-walk for others … it now represents south-end solace.
