Two dead in crash near Alexandria

OPP have identified the two people killed in a car crash in North Glengarry Twp. early Sunday morning.

Colin Joseph Geddis, 21, and Jasmine Morris, 26, both of Alexandria, were pronounced dead at the scene after their car crashed into a ditch on McCormick Road and struck a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, Kevin Menard, 25, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

OPP responded to the single vehicle collision in a rural area on McCormick Rd., which turns into Power Dam Rd., at 1 a.m.

Police said a 25-year-old man was driving eastbound on McCormick Rd. when the car entered the ditch, striking a tree.

Damage was so severe, it was difficult to distinguish the make or model of the silver car.

Dozens of friends posted to a Facebook page believed to belong to the female victim.

“You are and always will be an amazing woman and mother I love you so very much young lady xxooxoxo,” wrote one friend.

“I am so very sorry for this. My condolences to your family and your beautiful babies. You were a sweet, sweet girl,” wrote another friend.

Technical collision traffic investigators worked through the day Sunday and OPP are determining if speed, alcohol, weather, or distractions were involved in the crash.
